The Telugu film industry often sees a mix of comedy and family drama, and 'Pelli Kani Prasad' tries to follow the same trend. But, does the film manage to entertain the audience to the fullest, or does it just turn out to be another mediocre film? Let's find out in this review.
Story: The story of the film revolves around a young man Prasad (Saptagiri), who is of marriageable age but is unable to get married despite several failures. His life gets more complicated when his girlfriend (Priyanka Sharma) and her family's ambitions come up with an NRI groom. The film tries to show the greed of the family and the troubles of the protagonist through humour.

Acting: Saptagiri, who has played such characters before, has tried his best to make the film entertaining. He succeeds in some scenes, but his comic timing seems weak in many places. Priyanka Sharma is impressive in some scenes, but her performance seems awkward in other scenes.
Muralidhara Goud's performance (as the hero's father) is decent. Supporting cast members Vadlamani Srinivas, Pramodini, Annapoornamma and Panodu Basha have given some funny moments, but most of the time their overacting is a hindrance.
Direction and screenplay: Abhilash Reddy has directed this film and has tried to present it as a humorous social message film. However, the script of the film becomes loose at many places.
The film starts in Malaysia, where the scenes seem dull. The real color of humor is seen when the story enters the village. The film maintains a good grip till the interval, especially when Prasad gets to know the real truth of his family.

Technical aspects: The first half of the film seems okay due to some funny scenes and interesting twists. But, the story starts falling apart in the second half. The angle of the protagonist escaping from Malaysia seems unbelievable, and the sudden changes in the climax seem to be very forced. The romantic and emotional side of the film also looks weak.
Music and Cinematography: The music of the film is mediocre and none of the songs are worth remembering. The cinematography is okay, but there is no particular scene that stays in the memory for a long time.
Conclusion: ‘Pelli Kani Prasad’ tries its best to be an entertaining comedy, but due to a weak script, overacting and unbelievable twists, it fails to impress the audience completely. Despite some funny scenes, the film ultimately ends up being mediocre.
